1. Developer and History:
Windows:
Developed by Microsoft, Windows was introduced in
the year 1985. The operating System was named Windows 1.0.
After which Microsoft corporation worked on improving and
enhancing the user experience as well as the OS. In the past 35
years we have seen 9 major versions, the latest is Windows 10

2. Operating system:
Windows:
Windows OS can run on many different
hardware. Windows has a very easy to use GUI (Graphical
User Interface). The operating system has very useful tools
developed by Microsoft, which will be discussed under
Software section. Windows pc come installed with the
latest version i.e. Windows 10.
Mac:
Apple develops its own Computers no one else has the
right to do so. Which is a plus sign. Apple has a low market
share, but it has a loyal userbase and Apple develops
everything so that their user doesn’t need any third-party
applications. The operating system is also easy to use and
has a clean GUI (Graphical User Interface).
3. Software:
Windows:
Microsoft offers a software package called
Microsoft Office. Almost everything is covered within it.
Along with the software’s offered by Microsoft, it’s quite
easy to download and use third party
applications/software’s. There is a Microsoft Store where
we can download applications for our Desktop.
Mac:
The majority of the software available are developed
by Apple itself. It is said that there is no need for any third party application. One of the reason why Apple prefers to
develop every software on its own is that compared to
Windows third party software/applications do not work up
to the mark on a Mac.
